Certificates issued in the 1920s or 1930s, the probated birth certificates will be found in the county where the person applied, not in the actual county of birth, if different. The latest book by Don Easterling is now completed. John and Nancy Keith Hightower were very early settlers of Franklin County, coming to Texas in the spring of 1844 and to Franklin in early 1845, settling a little south of Mt. Vernon. The other families that came with the Hightowers were the Cannadays, Hales, and Keiths.
